Frequency of Hematological Malignancies Based on Bone-Marrow Aspiration and Trephine Biopsy in Patients Presenting to Tertiary Care Hospital

Background: Hematological disorders are found commonly in the general population existing on both ends of spectrum with minute like iron deficiency anemia to as severe bone marrow infiltration Objective: To assess frequency hematological malignancies based bone-marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy patients presenting tertiary care hospital Methodology: The current study was cross-section descriptive carried out at Pathology department Bacha Khan Medical College, Mardan from April 2013 October 2021. Bone-marrow done for all patients. Data regarding gender, age, clinical examination diagnosis recorded a proforma designed this research. Results were analyzed by using IBM SPSS (version 23). Results: In our study, total 182 included. mean age (±SD) 41 (12.6) years. Based malignant disorder, acute myelogenous leukemia diagnosed 15 (23.08%) patients, lymphoblastic chronic myeloid 14 (21.54%) leukemias 3 (4.62%) Myeloproliferative neoplasms 6 (9.23%) Lymphoproliferative disease 11 (16.92%) while plasma cell myeloma 1 (1.54%) Conclusion: Our concludes that (AML) (ALL) is most common College followed (CML) which second highest specific time. We report a case of a bone marrow aspiration and trephine biopsy (BMATB) associated haematoma in an 85-years old male without any predisposing risk factors. Six days after BMATB, he suffered from a massive thigh and buttock haematoma and a fall in haematocrit.
